AAML, New York Chapter

We are the New York chapter of a national academy of lawyers who practice divorce and family law.

In 1962, a small group of nationally known divorce/family lawyers met in Chicago, Illinois to discuss the need to humanize and dignify the most traumatic area of family relations. These lawyers founded the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers to improve the practice of divorce and family law. Fellows of the Academy concentrate their practice in all issues related to divorce and paternity cases including:

  • Divorce
  • Equitable Distribution
  • Child Custody and Custodial Access Rights
  • Child Support
  • Spousal Support
  • Valuation of Business and Educational Degrees
  • Same Sex Marriage
  • Pre-Nuptial & Post-Nuptial Agreements
  • Collaborative Divorce and Mediation
